7 out of 10 Spanish professionals believe that digital maturity is key to internationalization

Globalization has meant that an organization's ability to integrate digital technologies into its business model directly impacts its competitiveness and its access to new markets. This is according to the report. Digital Pulse 2025: Digital Maturity Barometer of Excelia, a Spanish consulting, technology and professional services firm, which points out that for 70,45% of Spanish professionals believe that a company's digital maturity is key to opening new markets.Despite this, more than half of the professionals surveyed (54.5%) consider that their organization is still at a medium-low level of digital maturity, while only 15.9% rate it as very advanced.

This study, based on the opinions of more than 400 professionals from Spanish companies, shows that digitalization not only allows companies to optimize internal processes and improve operational efficiency, but has also become a key strategic element for international expansion. Organizations that leverage advanced digital technologies, such as data analytics platforms, automation solutions, and integrated management systems, are able to streamline decision-making, reduce operating costs, and adapt quickly to the demands of different global markets.

“Advanced digitization becomes a key enabler for internationalization because it allows organizations to operate as a single ecosystem, regardless of the country in which they are present. Having common platforms, unified data, and automated processes makes it easier for all subsidiaries to work with the same language and real-time information, which reduces errors and improves decision-making.”, points out Raúl Candela, Partner & Managing Director of Excelia, which adds: “When a company expands internationally, operational complexity grows exponentially. Having integrated systems that allow for the consolidation of financial information, the management of multiple currencies, the automation of processes such as invoicing and payroll, and the guarantee of regulatory compliance in each country is essential to maintaining control and scaling the business efficiently.”.
